Paperclip’s Google Calendar connector gives your AI agents tools to read schedules, suggest meeting times and respond to or delete events through Google’s MCP server. Each tool can be Allowed, Ask first or Off.
Reach comes from the calendars available to the Google account you authorize. Event writes require a managing connection and can affect other attendees.
What agents can do with Google Calendar
- Review a calendar schedule
list_calendars·list_events·get_event - Find events and suggest meeting times
search_events·suggest_time - Review an invitation before responding
get_event·respond_to_event
How to connect Google Calendar
- In Paperclip, open Connectors and select Google Calendar.
- On the Access step, choose whose Google account to connect and which agents may use it.
- Choose Read only or Read & manage, then Connect with Paperclip where offered or Use your own Google OAuth app. Complete Google authorization with a registered Workspace account.

Tool availability and permissions
The list contains the tools that were active on a connected account when the list was recorded. Quarantined actions are held until enabled.
These lists show actions from a connected account when the list was recorded. On this website, evidence that an action changes data or submits information elsewhere puts it in Write, even when the account originally grouped it as Read. The original account grouping is retained separately. Read describes the reviewed evidence; it does not guarantee that an action has no side effects. Account groupings and available actions can change.
Only actions active on the connected account when this list was recorded are shown. Disabled actions were unavailable, and actions held for review needed to be enabled. This list does not establish their current availability.
Connection policies
Review the discovered actions and their permissions. You can set any tool to Ask first or Off. Require approval for event changes, because they can affect attendees.
Google Calendar connector FAQ
Can I require approval for changes?
Set event writes to Ask first for human approval of each call or Off to prevent calls. Responding to an invitation acts as your account; the connector guidance recommends approval for event changes.
Which calendars can agents reach?
Agents can reach the calendars on the authorizing account’s calendar list, including shared calendars. Paperclip has no calendar picker. Narrow reach by changing sharing in Google Calendar or authorizing another account.
What do I need before connecting?
Use a Google Workspace account registered for Developer Preview. If you use your own OAuth client, register its Cloud project and enable Calendar and Calendar MCP APIs. Workspace administrator restrictions still apply.
